Jesus and Mary are a couple going through a difficult time in their relationship. However, they have become parents. To shape their new life, they decide to buy a new coffee table. A decision that will change their existence.. The entire movie was shot over 10 days.. The Merchant: Your table will last forever because the glass is unbreakable.. Half in the Bag: Top 10 Horror Movies (2024) Part 1 (2024 ). I recently rented the Spanish horror movie The Coffee Table (2022) on Prime. The plot follows a couple who have recently become parents and are learning to work together. One day, the husband leaves the house alone to take care of his newborn baby while the wife goes home with dinner. The husband has an accident and the night takes a turn for the worse. The film is directed by Caye Casas (Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales) and stars David Pareja (Amigo), Estefanía de los Santos (Unit 7), Claudia Riera (Black Snow), and Josep Maria Riera (Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales). The premise of this film is wild and gripping. Events unfold rapidly, leaving you shivering all over, trying to imagine how someone could possibly face such a situation. The acting is excellent, capturing the awkwardness perfectly. The settings and atmosphere are tense and immersive, and the "elephant in the room" is known only to one character and the audience. When the reveal happens, it will be jaw-dropping. Ultimately, The Coffee Table is a unique horror/thriller film that is well written and even better executed. It’s a slow burn but a brilliant, tragic journey. I rate it 8/10 and highly recommend it.
