The DC Studios logo is located in a rainy alley in Gotham
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, attempts to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from the final shot of the bat in the season finale, we never got a glimpse of our Robert Pattinson in “Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where is Batman?. Colin Farrell fought his version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022) to quit smoking, but failed miserably. However, for his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional smoker with a preference for cigars.
Farrell steals the show
An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton and the Fans features: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s charming.
The series is raw and graphic
There’s nothing about the character that even Farrell finds off-putting. The New York dialect, the swing and the limp, the attitude: you’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are so realistic and add to the character. There’s no comic relief in it.
It’s a shame
Well written and tense. It’s a great counterpoint to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows up the Marvel line. I hope there’s a season 2, but I know it’s limited.
